Ideas for a Storyline (We will make a poll after there are several stories being nominated)

First topic message reminder :

For the past few days, Allen, Neo, and I have argued about what would be a ideal storyline for the game.


My idea: So, we as a group of people were walking down the street from a party.
Along the way, we encouter a single zombie on the outskirts of the city.
Tristain (I don't think he's ever on), being the dumbass that he is, goes up to it and gets kidnapped. We run like scared rabbits into a military shop and stock up.

My suggestion would be an ally turned enemy who infected (or cursed) many to become undead for their own personal gain. The motive would be revenge in that circumstance.

There is a possibility...

Because fighting a seemingly-endless army of zombies without a motive can eventually lead one to believe that the game is boring, no matter how good the gameplay is.
I think Final Fantasy VIII is making me story-hungry right now.

Basically, we are all in agreement that Tristain is captured (killed?), right?
There are two things (that I can think of) to build up the story on this building block.
Humorous or Serious.
Humorous could include Tristain having borrowed money/items from someone in the party and we seek him out simply to get it back ("Give me back the 20 bucks you owe me!")
Serious could be that he's an ally, and that no ally should be left behind (possible quote to be used in story?) or the grief that you carry when you know something terrible can be corrected.

Serious is probaly better than humorous.

What I'm thinking is that two people (scientists....?) are spreading the virus under the alibi of a cure for a pandemic. (h1n1, anybody?)

Except, one scientist is doing the first 'antidote' without the other one.
Later on, when the 'zombie desease' spreads, the second releases a 'cure', which actually horribly mutates the desease and makes ultra-zombies!

Also, Solanum is he desease.
And the virus is not airborne.

We could make the shot.
How 'bout the evil scientists plot?
'Cept we don't make it crappy.

*h1n1 is offically a pandemic.
Scientists releases 'cure'.
It turns out to be Solanum.
ZOMBIE TYME!

*Second person releases 'cure for zombies'.
Horiblly mutates and creates retarded-ultra-zombies.


Also, Solanum is the zombie desease.
And it isn't airborne.

Couldn't we have one of us have a military parent with all the fancy crap?

With the disease, I suppose it spreads through contact with an open wound?
The cure thing is a good idea, as long as it's well presented. Now, with the opening story, should it come up as innocent conversation within our party or should it be presented in a storybook sequence?

Maybe we could pull an I am Legendand start in the middle with flashbacks in between battles.......?

Flashbacks of what? What kind of muffin I had for breakfast?
I don't appreciate a flashback after a fight scene!

,_, Ok, well, I had this conversation with other Group Members and decided we aren't all going to be together at the beginning.
We're sure one of the groups is going to be Rex, Soina/Lenny, and Zach H.
We're sure you and Amaya and maybe Sita are going to be in a group,
We're sure me and Allen are in a group.

Neo, Assassin/Andrew, Zach B, and Joseph, and the other two are in the air.

So the story has been decided?
Apparently we're going with Neo's?

So far the story is looking like an orgy between mine and Neo's story, but if anyone comes up with a fantasimal one, we'll incorporate it.

Instead of saving tristan he gets captured

Zero sends out n1h1 or h1n1 vaccines out but turns out to have the zombie virus (he did it on purpose)

Also, I think the story would be better if the main villain sends out the h1n1 vaccine, not knowing it was the zombie virus, and slowly goes insane from the guilt of millions of vegetable-turned lives.
Makes it a bit dramatic.



Also, happy endings are terrible and abrupt in zombie games. No happy endings. I want to see some death and destruction. I want to see that this fight was out of our hands.


Sorry to extend the post, but how does my team come into the story? I don't want to be caught just ripping apart zombies, no, I want to be caught obscurely having a chainsaw teaparty with those zombies.

Although, I just want to pop up in the story talking to my gecko (I am so insane I hear him talk back.) while eating a cookie and blasting zombies with ham who should be somehow holding a weapon larger than himself.

Look, the way I see it, we were heading straight into a average cliche zombie game. This is NOT what I'm after. Neo, you're story is too cliche and expected.
It's almost as if we should slap a Disney logo on it and publish it. But I'm still holding out for several ideas and waiting for the poll to be officially published with at least three versions. *sigh*

Story B is Amaya14's storyline (i think)

Obscure like Little Red's Zombie BBQ or Zombie Panic in Wonderland.
I don't want generic.
If there is a villain, he should go insane from guilt, not be insane in the first place. We also need backstory for the villain. Otherwise their plain and boring and you don't know why you're fighting them.
Secondly, happy endings are overrated. If possible, I'd want only a small group to survive, maybe not even rid the world of zombies or kill the villain. I want hope to die. I want it to feel like an apocalypse.
Characters themselves should be given attitudes, backstory, personality... Their dialogue is crucial to the flow of the story. We need it to fit the timeframe as well as suit the character that the words originate from.
I want story twists. For example, Tristain is a boss (or miniboss), who has joined the insane maniac with promises of great strength and/or riches in return for the corpses of immune survivors. I want death. I want betrayal.

well first we have to remember this is a game, not a movie. i dont think this should be like a superhero movie where it shows everyones past and how they got to where they are in the game. it would be nice but i think it would be to long to show almost everybodies story. second the villan is not insane just evil. like he just wants to destroy the world and see it die, this or take over as a zombie leader(i perfer the watch world burn thing). and not all stories that dont show the villans past make them boring. Ex.(The Dark Knight, The Joker). also we know he gave out the virus to zombify he world and we must stop him before he infects the rest of the world and after that happens plan the blow up the world or some thing. third if you havent heard the ending we alrady agreed on i dont want u talking about it. i dont want to say anything because it is between only 5 ppl. third it will be an apocalypse and only a few peole have survived if u have been paying attention to the story. there will be twists in the story and the ending. "I want story twists. For example, Tristain is a boss (or miniboss), who has joined the insane maniac with promises of great strength and/or riches in return for the corpses of immune survivors" there is a flaw in this because if the worlds population is zombified money doesnt matter and tristan is captured and experimented on for "stronger smarter zombies". fifth, if people die in the group it wont be 13 unless we get more people again and again which would just be to hard to write and too long. sixth characters are given personalities but its quite hard to focus on the characters personalities when some arnt even in the storyline yet.

from this i think we can elaborate this wont be a disney type game/storyline
